Just So They Don't Start Talking To You...

So many faces, so little time! I've gotten lots of fun photos of faces in all kinds of places. This one (thanks Greg!), of course, doesn't really count since it's so deliberate, not to mention a little creepy. But I couldn't resist sharing.

I'll post more as I get them sized and what not. Loved this explanation from Tom:

"You have come to an addiction I have had since elementary school. It transports you into the world of Imag-iin-ation. You look past the substance of something and find the accident. Plato knew this well; thus his thesis of the reality of "idea." So, despite of the fact that there are rumors he didn't water down his wine enough, your face sightings have an historic basis. I’m sure Jung used this concept in interpreting dreams. One eventually comes to the realization that the hallucinations of Timothy O’Leary’s LSD are truly among us, but they are accidents. Perhaps the most intriguing sightings are those that will disappear if you (as they say) take your eyes off of them. These are gleaned from designs in say Persian rugs (see attached), though they can occasionally be found again with a second look.

BUT the truly fascinating sightings are those that you may see while you are sitting and thinking of something entirely different and notice an imprecise configuration, usually a face, emerge from the cluttered nap of a shag rug. THESE are the type you cannot look away from for they will be gone when you look back. It’s a kind of leprechaun effect. So let us live with and enjoy our world of real accidents. It is most likely a video card defect, as that was very prominent in the older iBooks. Apple used to fix these for free until a couple of years ago. At this point, I would probably suggest that if it is the video card to not even bother fixing it as it would cost more than the laptop is worth
."

On with the show...
Lenore and I took these around town...sorry this is so scroll-ie -- I'm not sure how to get around the scroll factor. Don't go too fast or you might get dizzy!

More from Lenore:

Love this one with the runny nose :)
